First Successful Polypectomy Procedure done at New Town Centre

Jashvi Bagaria, 3+ year old girl, visited Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, New Town with her parents as they had noticed blood in her stools for few days. She was referred to Dr. Gautam Ray (Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, New Town). After examination, she was diagnosed with a polyp in her rectum.

A polyp is a round lump of tissue that leads to bleeding, and is fairly common in this age group. It is always advisable to remove polyps, and the procedure to remove the polyp is known as Polypectomy. It was performed through colonoscopy. The procedure was successful and was done for the first time in Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, New Town. The procedure was performed by Dr. Gautam Ray, with assistance from our Paedaitric Anesthetist, in house Paediatricians & trained Paediatric nurses, so that the child gets the best of clinical care.
