Uplifting the medical scenario in Guwahati
5th June 2025 was a landmark date. It marked the entry of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited into the North-Eastern region with the launch of the 100-bed Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre in Guwahati.
The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who officially inaugurated the facility, along with Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of the Ambuja Neotia Group and Mr. Parthiv Neotia, Executive Director, Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited.
The promise

In the pursuit of these avowed objectives, the hospital, over the past year has organised and conducted several events and days which have been resounding successes. Let’s take a look at some of these notable programmes.
CME Session on Nutrition
A thought-provoking CME session on “Targeting Right Nutrition for Better Neurodevelopmental Outcome” was organised on 8 Aug, 2025. The objective of the session was to highlight the vital link between early nutrition and a child’s brain development.
World Breast Feeding Week
Between 1st to 7th August 2025, World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated. The highlight was a Poster Display Competition which advocated for informed choices and stronger support for mothers.
CME Event 5th September 2025
Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre, Guwahati (NBWCCC Guwahati) successfully hosted an enlightening Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on 5th September 2025. The sessions included “Torching the Myths – Congenital Infections in Pregnancy” and “PCOS 2025 – Evidence, Experience & Evolving Guidelines”.
National Nutrition Week Event
5th September 2025 signalled the start of National Nutrition Week celebrations. As part of the celebrations, a Cooking Competition was organised to encourage awareness about the importance of nutrition and to foster appreciation for traditional food practices.

A workshop on Advanced Lactation Skills took place on11th October 2025
NNF Nursing Zonal Quiz
In association with NNF Assam, the hospital organised a Nursing Zonal Quiz on 2nd November 2025. The objective was to encourage learning, excellence and collaborative growth in neonatal nursing.
CME session on Recent Advances in Neonatology
A knowledge-packed session led by Dr. Rajib Losan Bora in association with IAP Nalbari District Branch.
Obstetrics & Gynaecology Awareness Health Camp
This camp was conducted at PRAG News, Assam, on 5th January 2026 and focused on the importance of awareness, open dialogue and timely care in women’s health.
Health Check-up Programmes
A Paediatric Health Check-up Programme was arranged for the students of Maharishi Kids Home, Lal Ganesh, Guwahati, on 28 February 2026. The programme conducted comprehensive health evaluations for the students, emphasising the importance of preventive healthcare and early medical assessment.
Another Health Check-up Programme was held earlier at Ekalavya Modern Academy, on 14 February 2026.
These initiatives reflected the hospital’s continued commitment to child health and community engagement.
Medical Talk Shows – Care Kotha
Neotia Bhagirathi Woman & Child Care Hospital, Guwahati organised “ Care কথা “, a community-focused Medical Talk Show on 13 Feb, 2026.
Topics covered included health issues such as anaemia among women, pregnancy-related nutritional deficiencies, and delayed fertility planning. The talk show aimed at creating a safe inclusive platform to engage directly with medical experts and take informed steps towards healthier motherhood and family wellbeing.
IVF Department inauguration
The IVF Department was inaugurated on 12th March 2026. It provides advanced fertility care to couples aspiring to start or expand their families. Equipped with modern technology and specialised infrastructure, the IVF Department offers comprehensive fertility services.
World Health Day
A special health initiative for women was organised on Tuesday, 7th April 2026. The programme featured a complimentary consultation for women along with an engaging orientation session on Antenatal Exercise Classes (Lamaze), aimed at empowering expectant mothers with the knowledge and tools to embrace a healthier pregnancy journey.
Care Katha Episode 2
The second episode of Care Kotha was hosted on 9th May 2026, on the occasion of Mother's Day. It featured compassionate voices united to advance awareness and foster meaningful dialogue around safe motherhood.
The special session was centred on the theme "Safe Motherhood: Safe Maa, Strong Future", weaving together insightful guidance, heartfelt conversations and a celebration of togetherness — all dedicated to the health, safety and well-being of mothers.
Scientific Symposium on Obstetrics and Gynaecology
This seminar in 2026 focused on issues such as rapid advancements in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, emerging challenges such as environmental impacts on women’s health, increasing high-risk pregnancies, evolving fertility treatments and complex conditions like endometriosis which require updated clinical perspectives.
This seminar brought together leading experts, clinicians and healthcare professionals to deliberate on these critical issues, share best practices and foster a collaborative approach toward improving maternal and reproductive health outcomes.
